Khushi Desai - The Barrett Centre

As a student graphic designer for The Barrett Centre for Innovation in Sustainable Urban Agriculture, I began working with the Centre in October 2024 and continued in the role through the 2025–2026 academic year. Working primarily remotely, I was responsible for designing a wide range of print and digital materials to support the Centre’s research, education, and community-facing initiatives. My work included large-scale print promotional boards for conferences and presentations, educational handouts for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, and product labels for Pantry—a retail food store located in the W. Galen Weston Centre for Food at Durham College’s Whitby campus. I also designed agenda handouts and social media graphics for the unConference, supporting outreach and event visibility. Most recently, I led the layout and visual design of a 60-page policy paper focused on agricultural growth, ensuring clarity, hierarchy, and accessibility across a complex, research-driven document.
